Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its response. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server can automatically receive basic technical details about that visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files used to understand traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics services combine that activity into performance reports. Browser controls can block cookies, though some functions may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Callaway County Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to reach the Callaway County sheriff, Circuit Court, Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is never assembled into a consumer report or third-party criminal file, and this resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search tools. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing practices govern any information submitted through those boxes. Review the applicable provider policy before running a search because those practices are outside our control.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff, court, state agency, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy rules apply. Those terms should be read before personal information is shared.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to track cross-site activity for tailored ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information can be received by:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices protect collected data, but no internet service can guarantee perfect protection. Appropriate safeguards reduce risk without promising that a breach can never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 18. A verified minor's submission will be removed after notice.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer law may provide additional rights. Missouri criminal-record access is also shaped by the Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610, and criminal-history reporting under section 43.503. At a minimum, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
